Flaring Reduction

Versatile LPP Combustion Power Systems

Use low-cost Flare-gases, Ethane and NGLs as fuels for remote-site power for:  drilling, fracking, production, and economically-feasible enhanced oil recovery (EOR).  Power gas-processing plants with excess ethane.

Oil & Gas Applications enabled by LPP Combustion  multi-fuel capability include:

  1. Well-site operations power and micro-grids,

  2. Off-shore platform power,

  3. 'Self-fueled' power for gas-processing and fractionation plant facilities, and

  4. Electricity produced by power plants for the electric grid.

LPP Combustion equipment reduces power generation cost by leveraging locally-available by-products of oil and gas production as low-cost fuels.  These 'non-traditional fuels' are used as substitutes for costly refined diesel or processed 'pipeline-quality' natural gas for purposes of power generation.

Flare-gas, raw-gas, ethane, mixed NGLs (Y-grade) or fractionated NGLs (propane, butane, pentane, etc.) are viable fuels for LPP Combustion multi-fuel Power Systems.

'Flare-to-Electricity' initiatives re-purpose wasted flare-gas to generate low-cost, on-site power.

Because the fuels are produced locally, added fuel transport costs - via truck, ship, or pipeline infrastructure - are avoided.  Transporting CNG/LNG to the well-site is expensive and inefficient.  Liquid fuels are vaporized on-site into a substitute gas via LPP Combustion equipment.  Liquid fuels have roughly four (or more) times the energy density of natural gas, taking only one quarter of the space necessary for LNG storage/transport.

The mobile LPP Combustion equipment can be moved as needed site to site.  The foot-print for well-site power generation required for fracking is reduced to a fraction of the current deployments.

In-place gas-turbine power systems can be up-graded to multi-fuel capability via installation of the modular LPP Combustion front-end Liquid Fuel Vaporization Unit (LVU), which attaches to the standard fuel-intake of the gas-turbine without modification.
