How it Works:

The LPP 65 system conditions liquid fuel into LPP Gas to fuel an onboard Capstone C65 gas turbine engine, producing 65 kW of on-demand power. Liquid fuel is injected the fuel vaporizer where it is flash vaporized and mixed with inert nitrogen to match the ignition and combustion properties of the resulting LPP Gas to those of natural gas.

Subsystems:

  • Nitrogen - Nitrogen is produced on-skid using a compressor and membrane separator to separate out oxygen from the air.
  • Liquid Fuel - Liquid fuel is pumped from supply inlet through duplex filters into the storage tank. The fuel is then injected into the vaporizer using high pressure pumps.
  • Heat Transfer Fluid - DELF600 transfer fluid circulates between either an exhaust heat exchanger or electric inline heater and the vaporizer.
  • LPP Gas - LPP Gas is produced in the vaporizer and sent through a coalescing filter before moving into the gas turbine.

Applications and Key Benefits:
  • Designed to vaporize liquid fuels and power the gas turbine with lighter liquid hydrocarbon fuels such as ethane, propane, butane, mixed NGLs, and gasoline.
  • Includes remote system control and monitoring capabilities
  • Can meet natural gas emission standards for gas turbine exhaust using liquid fuels
  •  Lowers fuel and operating costs by providing fuel flexibility and utilizing waste fuel streams
